I had like a 10 hr halt in this airport while coming back from India and I was shocked on how insane, luxurious and gigantic this airport is. I didn't even get enough time to see the whole airport but still got to checkout some big brands, the sky train and the jewel.

Here is something I wish she had stated, although she does have me planning my next trip to Singapore, is the reason why the US airports are more utilitarian. It's not just because they were designed to emulate bus stations originally on average 50 years ago (just for reference the average US airport terminal was originally built in the late 50's or 60's) but because you honestly don't spend that much time in US airports. I was a professional pilot and I love to travel (see reference on visiting Shanghai) but I have never spent more than 4 hours in a US airport during a transfer and that was because we got in an hour early due to high tail winds. US airports are designed so that NORMALLY, during a layover you aren't there for more than a few hours at a time. Places like Singapore, Dubai, and Hong Kong, you can sometimes expect layovers close to 12 hours, and that's normal, and its not a factor of bad planning, its geography. The US has more large hubs distributed all over the continent. Its also a time zone thing. Since US airports are 24/7/365, versus airports in the Europe and Asia which tend to shut down after certain times, in the US its very easy for a person connecting from...Tokyo to London for example to arrive in the morning and leave in the afternoon, if they chose to do that. Or a more realistic route, from Tokyo to the Bahamas, you are probably only going to be in Detroit, Atlanta, NYC or even Chicago for a few hours before your next flight leaves. If you are doing a US to Sydney connection through Singapore, you can sometimes expect a 17-20hr layover (I know because I've been looking into this). So that's why they have all of these features.

Hello Changi Airport, Received numerous complaint on the facilities provided by the Changi Airport. One of the important yet so far pertaining the availability of mosque or a prayer room perhaps for the Muslim traveller and the changi Airport co-worker itself. It very essential for the board of director and stakeholder’s to expadite the construction of a mosque or prayer room. Thank you Sincerely HELMI❤

Can someone please tell me how to get to the jewel somehow i have not seen it & yet im a frequent flyer to changi airport. I guess my mind is focused on customs baggage reclaim then get to the city or vice versa check in then onto departure lounge. I seem to be the only one that has not witnessed such a spectacle

In fact, the real reason it is the best airport is that it has completely FREE TAXIS that can take you anywhere in Singapore, even Sentosa, which is a five-star service.
