i remember my aunt cooking coconut milk to the point of caramelization wherein it turns into something we call "latik" which is pretty much Coconut flakes, and we take it out and we're left with what i'd call "brownish coconut oil". she uses it for massaging and it smells wonderful😂

First of all as someone who has lived and used coconut products all life...or even seen its effects. 1. Coconut oil is not healthy either for cooking (unless u want heart problems) or as hair oil beyond certain use for hydration. Bdw this oil is the cheapest and only expensive in ur minds or in areas that import coconut products. 2. Other coconut products like water or meat are okay in moderation unless u want high diabetes. The west has waken up to the "benefits" of coconut oil only now - we here in South India (esp. in Kerala and Tamil Nadu), coconut oil has been a staple for cooking and also for hair nourishment, besides its medicinal use. In here, coconut oil is not expensive at all
